A house move produces two piles, and only one of them gets planned for. The first is the furniture and belongings that are not making the trip. The second is the packaging the move itself creates, which arrives at the new address and sits there. Flattening cartons is the difference between one collection and two. A stack of intact boxes fills a vehicle at a fraction of its real weight, while the same boxes flattened take roughly a fifth of the space.

Where you live changes the logistics more than the volume does. The same three-bedroom move produces much the same debris in a tower and in a villa, but it leaves the property in a completely different way.
Access is the reason two identical moves are quoted differently. A Dubai Marina apartment on a high floor and a Mudon villa with a driveway are not the same job, even with the same number of boxes.
The most common mistake is booking too early. A collection two days after moving day catches half the cartons and leaves the rest for a second visit, which costs more than waiting a week and clearing it once.

A few will fit, but the volume from a full move will not. A three-bedroom move typically produces more cardboard than a household bin store can absorb in a week, which is why it is usually booked as one collection.
One to two weeks after moving day, once the majority of boxes have been unpacked. Booking earlier means paying for a second visit to catch the cartons that were still full the first time.
Yes, and the new address is where most of it is. The old property usually needs a clearance before the handover, while the packing debris accumulates at the new one as unpacking progresses.
Most of it is. Dry, flattened cardboard and clean packing paper have a recycling route, and so does bubble wrap and stretch film kept apart from the paper. Anything soaked through with food waste has to be handled as general waste instead.
More than people expect. A two-bedroom apartment move commonly fills a small van once the cartons are flattened, and a four-bedroom villa move can fill a larger vehicle with the wrap and foam alone.
It can, though it rarely helps. Two crews competing for the same service lift slows both, and most of the packaging is still around the furniture at that point, so the collection catches only a fraction of it.
Keep them out of the cardboard stack and bag them separately, compressed as much as they will go. They weigh almost nothing and take up more room than anything else in a packing load, so they are the stream worth crushing first.
Packing debris feels like an afterthought until it is stacked in the corner of a room you want to use. Treating it as its own job, with its own date a week or two after the move, keeps it from becoming the last unfinished part of the relocation.
